United Utilities have a multi-million-pound, multi-faceted solution to help reduce storm water spills at Staveley wastewater treatment works and to address sewer flooding in Staveley village. As part of AMP8 business plans submission, United Utilities have proposed an investment scheme at Staveley wastewater treatment works to reduce spills from the site, this proposal is draft and subject to approval.

Short term activity for the site includes:

  • Increase capacity at Staveley treatment works 
  • Removing surface water (through water butts, SUDS pods, supporting a project at Brow lane)
  • Modelling and designing an integrated solution (through CCTC, sewer monitors)
  • Storm overflow reduction project
