A variety of groups with long term water quality monitoring.

  • Environment Agency: Ongoing monitoring at various designated points across the catchment. More detailed information available here
  • Clean River Kent Campaign (CRKC): Monitoring for phosphates and nitrates, and genetic testing to identify source of faecal bacteria. both active and ongoing in 2024. More information of earlier work available here: Clean River Kent Campaign June 2024

  • FreshWater Watch, an international project and database for monitoring water quality: CRKC and National Trust (Sizergh) have groups that upload data to this site. Data portal available here
  • R4ever Kent are conducting DGT passive phosphate sampling (2024). More information available here
