Monitoring is an essential part of understanding our catchments and to cover the large area of South Cumbria we frequently rely on volunteers.
Types of monitoring which you can get involved with:
- Riverfly surveys: invertebrate surveys undertaken in your own time once a month between April and September
- Electrofishing: fish surveys undertaken by South Cumbria Rivers Trust with the help of volunteers in the summer months (July to September)
Please get in touch if you are interested in become a monitoring volunteer. Other individual events can be found on our events pages.
