Widespread bio-security to prevent the introduction and spread of invasive non-native species.
This is ongoing. With a particular focus on the Kent catchment with funding from R4ever Kent and for Grasmere to Rydal, mainly through volunteer efforts. The Duddon Rivers Association are controlling invasive non-native species, predominantly focussed on Himalayan balsam, in the Duddon catchment. More funding needs to be secured and inter partnership work continued to reduce invasive non-native species and increase bio-security.
