South Cumbria Rivers Trust have funding for a 6 month feasibility to ground truth the keeping rivers cool mapping done by the Environment Agency a number of years ago. It is hoped this will inform a delivery phase to improve riparian corridors, delivery benefits for climate change mitigation, biodiversity and water quality. This will be supported by community and volunteer engagement.

After the initial phase it is hoped that this project can be expanded to cover the whole of South Cumbria.
