Part of the Heritage Lottery Funded (HLF) Conserving Coniston and Crake project. Looking after the Locals aims to investigate and improve the effectiveness of the fish screen between Tarn hows and Coniston Water, to prevent coarse fish from entering Coniston Water to the detriment of indigenous species.

Under the HLF structure the Conserving Coniston and Crake project has completed its development phase and submitted the second round application to HLF for a decision on the delivery phase (2017-2020).
